USAID SEGAR is seeking a short-term technical assistant of a Graphic Designer to support the Activity Communications Team in designing various materials in both print and digital formats.

USAID SEGAR is a five-year (2021 – 2026) Activity designed to advance Indonesia’s development objectives in balancing biodiversity conservation and sustainable land use with inclusive economic and livelihoods development. To accomplish this, targeted subnational jurisdictions with high conservation values and high carbon stocks will be under improved management of natural resources that measurably conserves biodiversity, decreases greenhouse gas emissions from unsustainable land use, and promotes sustainable and inclusive economic growth.
As part of its communications activities, USAID SEGAR will produce publications and other visual materials to support technical implementation and comply with USAID Branding and Marking regulations. Product development will evolve as the Activity rolls out. A graphic designer consultant is needed to support the preparation of various communications and outreach materials. The consultant will work mainly with the USAID SEGAR Communications Team and report to the Communications Manager.
TASKS & DELIVERABLES
- Lead the creative process to design publications and visual communication materials. The materials include, but are not limited to banners, backdrops, brochures, flyers, covers, books, reports, fact sheets, newsletters, infographics, icons, posters, document templates, exhibition materials, social media content (video, illustration).
- Develop/edit artwork, photographs, or other graphic elements.
- Provide recommendations/creative insights into the production of materials.
- The deliverables or products include, but are not limited to design of banners, backdrops, brochures, flyers, covers, books, reports, fact sheets, newsletters, infographics, icons, posters, document templates, exhibition materials, social media content (video, illustration).
JOB REQUIREMENT
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in visual communication design or related field.
- Display a strong portfolio and exhibit a solid understanding of design principles, knowledge of layouts, graphic fundamentals, typography, and print, and have abilities to communicate ideas and messages through visuals.
- Fluent in graphic design tools or software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, etc.)
- Familiar with USAID Graphic Standards Manual and Partner Co-Branding Guide to ensure the design of each product adheres to USAID’s branding and marking requirements.
- Experience with photography and videography is a plus.
- Fluency in Indonesian, strong working proficiency in English.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and achieve deadlines.
- Ability to brainstorm and go through creative processes with a team.
